Agree or disagree: Zoos do more harm than good.

This is an interesting topic; depending on what we are, the answers may well vary, and they all make sense, but I disagree with the opinion that zoos do more harm than good. Now let me explain the details.

First, in the past, zoos only showcased rare animals. Today, however, they serve significant roles in animal research and conservation. For example, zoos protect animals from illness, predators, and habitat loss by providing secure shelters, especially for endangered species. Plus, zoos educate visitors about wildlife and raise awareness about environmental conservation.

Next, I understand some may have ethical concern about animals kept in small cages of zoos, but it is acceptable to keep minimal samples to study their ecology and physiology. In addition, the UN Sustainable Development Goals have listed “protecting land animals” as one of their key challenges, and zoos play a key role to achieve this for now.

Therefore, even though there is still room for improvement, such as addressing overcrowding in zoos, I am happy to conclude that zoos have a positive role in society. Thank you for your attention. [182 Words Type-C]
