社会福祉政策は社会の不平等緩和に有効か

Do social welfare programs help reduce inequality in society?

Depending on what we are, the answers may well vary, and they all make sense, but in my view, some social welfare policies can help reduce inequality. I hold this view for mainly three reasons.

First, social welfare policy originally began as a religious relief policy and was adopted as a national policy in many countries. In other words, the social welfare system is based on the ideal that “people are equal,” and it is not wrong to expect social welfare policy to reduce inequality.

Next, neglecting social inequality does not even benefit the rich, because it causes social unrest. The public interest is in reducing inequality. For example, the basic income system is a policy that aims to reduce social inequality by eliminating extreme poverty.

Moreover, one might argue that social welfare policies cannot eliminate inequality. Indeed, even socialism in modern history has failed to eliminate inequality. However, many developed countries today have the economic power and social welfare policies to reduce inequality and achieve well-being for the majority of people, even if they cannot achieve perfect equality.

In conclusion, I am convinced that social welfare programs can work to reduce inequality in society based on the reasons mentioned above. (201 Words)
