科学者がヒト遺伝子を操作することは許されるか

Should scientists be allowed to manípulate human genes?

This is a sensitive topic: depending on what we are, the answers may well vary, and they all make sense, but in my view, scientists should be allowed to manipulate human genes following proper ethical guidelines. Now let me explain the details.

First, recent advances in human gene manipulation, or gene-therapy, has greatly advanced healthcare, such as safe organ transplants and regeneration, saving countless lives. So now, many countries have already recognized this potential, and are investing huge funds in the development of the technology. Without access to this technology, advancing in this field would be impossible.

Next, I understand some may have ethical concerns about this technology, but as long as it is conducted within proper guidelines, it could enhance the people’s quality of life. Plus, the UN Sustainable Development Goals have listed “ensuring good health” as one of their key challenges. That’s why we must adopt every promising technology available to achieve the goal.

Therefore, while challenges remain, we can be optimistic about this technology, and scientists should be encouraged to pursue its possibility. Thank you for your attention. [181 Words Type-O]
