日本は対米関係を再考すべきか

Should Japan rethink its relationship with the United States?

This is an interesting topic; depending on what we are, the answers may well vary, and they all make sense. It’s important for any country to try to find the optimal policy, but in my view, Japan should not hastily shift its focus on foreign policy. Now let me explain the details.

First, the US is a close ally of Japan, mainly because of their longstanding military partnership that has maintained peace and security in the Far East. Given the security threats by recent countless missile launched from North Korea, tightening the Japan-US relationship is crucial.

Next, I understand some may argue that promoting friendly relations with any other country is always positive, but the current balance of power in Asia are complex. So, any change in foreign policy could upset the status-quo. Thus, Japan should maintain the current framework, at least for now.

What I have said has only outlined the issues: in fact, several other political and diplomatic factors may have a complex impact. So, Japan must carefully consider the international situation to lay down the optimal policy. Thank you for your attention. [185 Word Type-I]
