日本はより多くの移民を受け入れるべきか

Should Japan allow more immigrants into the country?

Depending on what we are, the answers may well vary, and they all have a point, but in my view, Japan should allow more immigrants. Now let me explain the details.

First, immigrants can help alleviate Japan’s labor shortage, especially the suffering of primary industries due to an aging workforce. A labor shortage would stagnate the Japanese economy, resulting in lower tax revenues and a possible collapse of the social system. Therefore, the government already understands the need for a change in immigration policy, and has taken steps to ease entry requirements.

Next, I understand some may argue that immigration causes cultural conflicts and increases crime. However, Japan has welcomed and greatly benefited from foreign cultures for a century and a half. Moreover, immigrants are not intentionally undermining Japanese society. Rather, many of them value Japanese culture and want to support it. So, I believe that the Japanese people will embrace a multicultural society in the future.

Therefore, even though there are some concerns, I conclude that Japan should allow more immigrants to maintain a healthy and vibrant society. Thank you for your attention. [184 Words Type-D]
